Collaborative
working Collaborative
working should extend across the age and ability spectrum too. So, for
example, children outside the media studies group should also be able to
contribute to school TV. This could involve recording video on
easy-to-use mobile equipment, like camcorders, mobile phones or handheld
games consoles, and then passing this on to the media studies lab for
editing and integration with other content. With a strong heritage in the broadcast industry, Sony has an
end-to-end portfolio that meets all education requirements – from
entry-level video capture on camcorders and other handheld devices, to
professional cameras, recorders, production monitors, storage and
editing software. And because we specifically design our solutions for
education, they are guaranteed to work with each other – so all pupils
can contribute, and all content can be integrated. |
Empowering teachers to create, use, adapt and share resources
Teachers spend hours preparing their lesson plans and resources. These
are often archived in ring binders or on personal computers, never to be
seen again until the following year. All that information and hard work
is left isolated and inaccessible.
In the future, teachers
will be encouraged to contribute their lesson plans and teaching
resources to a vast digital pool – where it can be accessed, re-used,
leveraged and adapted by others. This could even extend across school
boundaries, so information is shared and utilised by teachers in
different institutions.
And as teaching content moves away from text-based material towards
digital multimedia, an easy-to-use content management system to handle
these rich resources will be essential. Sony has such a system available
today. It is the backbone of our education offering, and ensures
seamless connectivity to all teaching platforms. |
