XMA & Microsoft launched an apprenticeship scheme at World Skills with the aim of helping to recruit 500,000 young apprentices aged 16-18.
Nottinghamshire ICT supplier XMA is joining
forces with Microsoft to help a bid to get 500,000 unemployed workers
into jobs within the next three years.
The move is a response to rising unemployment in the UK, said the company.
XMA & Microsoft launched the initiative at World Skills with the aim of helping to recruit young apprentices aged 16-18.
The scheme got off to a great start with lots of young visitors at World
Skills to signing up to Britain Works, a scheme set up by Microsoft to help
provide work experience opportunities.
Lee Hemani, XMA’s sales and marketing director, said: "At XMA, we see
the value in nurturing young talent and providing young people with
opportunities to be part of the workplace in the future. We are
delighted to be working with Microsoft’s Britain Works programme and see
the World Skills competition as a great place to showcase our support.
