We deal with over 2,000 schools in the UK, over 90% of universities and 50% of Further Education institutions. We recognise the key drivers in education for driving up pupil performance and bridging the digital divide and as such have been involved with many high profile projects.

The Assistive Technology initiative is part of the Government Home Access programme and will be delivered by XMA and Assistive Technology experts iansyst. It will provide up to 12,000 individually configured computer packages for children with profound physical impairments and Special Educational Needs.
Becta, the government agency for technology in learning responsible for delivering the Home Access programme is urging those that may be eligible to apply quickly.
Nick Shacklock, Director of the Home Access programme said, “With 12,000 children set to benefit from personalised Assistive Technology solutions, it is crucial we have the right suppliers in place to deliver an effective service. It’s a unique provision and important that those with specific needs apply now as individual assessments will be made on a first come first served basis.”
Simon Perret, XMA’s Managing Director said, “We’re delighted to be selected alongside iansyst to deliver this programme. XMA is already delivering thousands of computers to low-income families through the Home Access Programme and this extends the provision of computers and internet access to many more low-income families, which we are certain enhances the learning of those children and their families.”

FRAMEWORK FOR IT Support
(FITS)
Training and Qualification for IT professionals in
Education
‘I wish I
could be more effective’ - Network Manager in a
school.
School IT Technicians and Network Managers are the unsung heroes
of many of our UK schools. Many do not know how well they are really
doing in their jobs. There has been no specific professional qualification to
help guide them in providing a quality service to students and school staff.
Some spend their time fighting fires
but do not have the training to enable them to follow processes that would allow
them to take control and get ahead of the issues and improve the embedding of
ICT in the classroom.
FITS provides a recognised qualification with
Higher National credits as a Level 5 Certificate in ICT Support in Education for
Managers and Level 4 for Technicians providing real recognition and career
achievement. These are
run in by XMA in a regional training venue near you to improve your worth as an
IT professional.

XMA - Approved supplier for Home Access national roll-out
Gordon Brown earlier this month promised free laptops and broadband access for 270,000 low income families so that they could better follow their children's progress at school.
Speaking to the annual Learning and Technology World Forum in Westminster earlier this month, Brown said: "We want every family to become a broadband family, and we want every home linked to a school. For those finding it difficult to afford this, today I can announce the nationwide rollout of our home access programme to get laptops and broadband at home for 270,000 families. It will mean all families can come together, learn together and reap rewards together."
XMA is delighted to be an approved supplier and is partnering with T-Mobile stores to deliver its Home Access packages, see www.xma4ha.co.uk for further details. If you are interested in school aggregation contact Kavita Chauhan, Sales Manager for Home Access on 07816 298810 or at kavita.chauhan@xma.co.uk.
The Home Access national roll-out follows the successful pilot in Oldham and Suffolk where over 12,000 grants were issued to low-income families. XMA was the largest supplier on the programme, supplying over 5,500 laptops to the successful applicants. Click here to read more about how XMA delivered in the pilot.
